On our way to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar

We are excited to announce that we have a new, long-term agreement with FIFA for the use of the full RefAssist package. RefAssist will be used at the Olympic Games in Tokyo and at the Football World Cup in Qatar.

Dieter De Naeyer, cofounder of RefAssist, explains that “FIFA uses RefAssist to follow up and coach their referees, who are scattered around the world. Through integrations with devices such as STATSports and Polar, they are able to set up training schedules and closely monitor the performance of their referees.”

And FIFA was curious for more. According to Dieter De Naeyer, “In 2019, FIFA successfully tested our other software modules at the U17 World Cup in Brazil and the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France 2019. Now, FIFA will use the full RefAssist’s package for at least the next three years. The fact that our software will be used at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar makes us very proud. In addition, we will develop a tailor-made instructor tool for the FIFA courses, organized all over the world. This will allow people of more than 200 different nationalities to use our platform. We are very motivated to further develop and improve our product based on customer feedback and needs and to help sport organizations of any size tackle all their referee challenges.”
